I was a twenty-something traveller, working my way around Australia, when I came through Oxford Landing. That was 30 years ago, and I never left.
I was captivated not only by my future wife but also by the people who make up Oxford Landing. I particularly remember Mavis (who still works here) knitting a cardigan to help a young lad (me) survive the winter. The people here at Oxford Landing are more than fellow workers – they are family friends.
As Operations Manager, I encourage this camaraderie and unity so all the folks who work here have confidence in themselves and their work mates. I help everyone perform at their maximum ability for any task, big or small, and with our systematic approach to all facets of the vineyard we can focus on the needs of every variety of vine, down to the smallest detail.
Aside from work, I am privileged to be married to the woman of my dreams, the woman I met when I first came to Oxford Landing. I absolutely love living in Waikerie, with the majestic River Murray as our back drop, and our family keep active with fishing, canoeing, picnicking, house boating, and yabbying. I also spend a good deal of time golfing, so much that I am now the president of the delightful Waikerie Golf Club.
